2021 – The Highlights

By Vicky Clapham

We thought that 2020 would be the year we will never forget but 2021 has turned out to be another life-changing year. From starting the first quarter of the year in a lockdown to the vaccine rollout and lifting of restrictions to ending on our best year yet, 2021 has certainly been a roller-coaster of emotions and experiences.

With the recent news that some restrictions are coming back into play right before the festive period and the overhanging fear of a 4th lockdown and new variants, we thought we would focus on the positives and take a look at our top 10 2021 highlights.

Picking 10 was really difficult which shows that it was an unforgettable year for all the right reasons!

No.1

We can’t talk about our 2021 highlights without starting with this one. Back in March, we began to grow the Bevic team welcoming our very first employee through the Government’s Kickstart Scheme. Emily joined the team on a 6-month training contract which was a great success, and she continued her stay with us as a permanent member of the team! We’ve also continued to work with the fab Charlotte Goss as our VA which has been invaluable support!

No.2

Next up is related to one of our clients we supported with a comms campaign in the summer. My Sainted Aunt are a brilliant indie brand selling novelty gifts and celebrity prayer candles. Back in July, we created a campaign around Yorkshire Day sainting the ultimate Yorkshire man, actor Sean Bean. Achieving some great press coverage including a great feature in the Yorkshire Post, we were delighted to see a large order come through for the new range from someone who knew the actor well!

No.3

At number 3 we’re giving a shout out to YAFTA. We’ve worked with them since our launch and the trailblazing business has continued to break down barriers in the film and TV industry. In November, their ongoing commitment and effort were recognised with its Acting for Screen Diploma course receiving Spotlight Accreditation – a huge accolade that gives official recognition to alternative routes into acting. Well done to Charlotte and the team!

No. 4

Next up we’re celebrating our client RJC who over the last 12 months have done so much for their local community. From providing afternoon tea to elderly residents for Random Act of Kindness Day to getting muddy in a total warrior challenge to raise money for a local disability trust, to donating 1000 meals to rescue dogs. They have continued to provide a brilliant service, enjoying some of their best months on record. Great work team!

No.5

Ranking no 1 for key search terms is the aim for most companies and we’re delighted for our client FESS, the food engineering specialist who has consistently ranked on page 1 on Google for their key search terms month after month. They have also grown the team and has achieved 5-star reviews for their work.

No.6

On to all things beauty and wellness with the amazing Lubna from Time to Bloom who despite launching a business at the start of the pandemic and enduring lockdown after lockdown, this last year saw the business really take off as Lubna developed a brilliant reputation and appeared in a host of media publications, was shortlisted for a number of awards and hosting the very first Make A Date With You event for Smart Works which was a complete sell out and raised over £1300 for the charity. All this alongside welcoming her new baby too!

No.7

Another highlight for Bevic this year was a recent project we’ve been working on with Bradford Bid on the launch of their new City Centre gift card. The Bradford City Centre Gift Card is a brilliant initiative supporting the local economy which has seen over 75 business sign up from hospitality, leisure and retail. As someone born and raised in the city it was great to work on the new campaign and rediscover my old stomping ground in the process.

No.8

Finding out Bevic was awarded the Prestige series award for Best in Marketing Services for Leeds and West Yorkshire for the second year in a row was another great highlight! It is truly a great feeling to be recognised by an outside body for doing a great job at something you love!

No.9

This year’s National Sporting Heritage Day was a brilliant success, and we love working with the team at Sporting Heritage! The campaign involved hundreds of events taking place across the four nations and on the day the dedicated hashtag #NSHD2021 even trended above #NoTimeToDie which was no mean feat!

No. 10

And finally at number 10 was the opportunity to work with some freelance colleagues on a campaign for international charity, Mary’s Meals which involved raising awareness of the amazing brand and resulted in huge features and interviews in publications across the globe, including the Toronto Star, Grazia, the Irish Sun and The Express to name a few.

On top of these ten, I couldn’t not mention joining the Business Wellbeing Club which I found in Spring. The group has been a great opportunity to meet like-minded business owners who are all value-led and have an abundant mindset. It’s also been a joy to work with the founder, Ros Jones on developing her unique insight into the Principles of Business Wellbeing and the changing approach to business. Ros has featured on BBC radio, Metro, Be Your Own and Stylist magazine sharing her insights as a business and leadership coach.
